Building the World's First Agent-Native Aviation Platform

When an AI agent is asked to book a private jet for its user, what happens? It searches the web — and finds almost nothing useful. No structured pricing, no real-time availability, no machine-readable fleet data. Traditional charter companies operate on phone calls, PDFs, and relationships.

This is the problem VOLO was built to solve.

The Agent Data Gap

We realized that the rise of AI agents creates a massive opportunity in private aviation. Agents need structured, queryable data. They need APIs that return JSON, not marketing copy. They need to be able to search "New York to Aspen, next Friday, 4 passengers" and get back real aircraft options with real pricing.

So we built four integration paths: REST API, GraphQL API, an OpenAI Plugin, and an MCP Server for Claude. Any agent, on any framework, can now access private aviation data programmatically.

But here's the insight that makes VOLO different: while the pre-booking experience is fully AI-driven (instant search, natural language queries, dynamic pricing), the post-booking experience is handled by our team of 100+ aviation specialists with 20+ years of experience.

Contracts, payments, ground transportation, catering, and the thousand details that make a private flight truly luxurious — these are handled by humans who know the industry intimately.

Technical Architecture

VOLO is built on Next.js with a monorepo architecture, supporting four languages (English, Chinese, French, Spanish) with automatic IP-based locale detection. Our AI layer uses natural language processing to convert conversational flight requests into structured queries against our fleet database of 500+ aircraft worldwide.

Every API response includes real-time availability, spec comparisons, and AI-optimized pricing that factors in empty-leg opportunities, routing efficiency, and seasonal demand patterns.
