Maasai Mara
Big cats and open plains in a private conservancy.
Kenya's most famous wildlife region, best experienced from a private conservancy bordering the reserve — fewer vehicles, off-road tracking and night drives. FCT books the conservancy camps and the guides who know where the prides hunt.
Why a private conservancy
The conservancies bordering the national reserve cap vehicle numbers, allow off-road tracking and night drives, and share revenue with Maasai landowners. You see the same wildlife as the reserve — with a fraction of the traffic and far more freedom.
Beyond the game drive
Walking safaris with an armed Maasai guide, a visit to a local village, bush breakfasts on the plains and sundowners as the light turns gold — the Mara is as much about the people and the place as the predators.
July to October brings the Mara River crossings and the highest game density; the green season (November–March) is quieter and beautiful, excellent for resident big cats with cubs and superb birdlife.
