Okavango Delta
Water and land safari in a roadless wilderness.
Botswana's low-volume, high-end model at its finest — a flooded delta explored by mokoro canoe, boat and game drive. FCT books the fly-in camps where elephants wade past your deck and the wildlife outnumbers the guests.
Water and land, in one trip
Few destinations let you track lions by 4x4 in the morning and glide past elephants by mokoro canoe in the afternoon. The Delta's seasonal flood, fed from the Angolan highlands, creates a maze of channels, lagoons and islands teeming with life.
A wilderness with almost no roads
Botswana protects the Okavango with a deliberate high-cost, low-impact policy: few camps, no crowds, and wildlife that outnumbers the guests. Most camps are reached only by light aircraft, landing on grass airstrips deep in the bush.
The flood peaks June–August, when mokoro and boat safaris are at their best and game concentrates on the islands; the shoulder months still deliver superb land drives. Botswana's low-volume model means few vehicles year-round.
